Tripwire Interactive, LLC is an entertainment software company based in Roswell, Georgia. It was founded in 2005 by the creators of the Unreal Tournament 2004 mod Red Orchestra: Combined Arms, with which they won the nVidia sponsored Make Something Unreal competition.
The company's first title was Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 (2006), a first-person multiplayer shooter based on the aforementioned mod. In 2009, Killing Floor was released.
As of 2020, the company has operated the Tripwire Presents publishing label.
On 18 August 2022, the company was acquired by Embracer Group and positioned in the Gearbox Software operating group. When Gearbox split from the Embracer Group, Tripwire Interactive remained with the latter.
