Founded on October 27, 1983 by Kazuyuki Fukushima. Eventually it was broken into many subsidiaries. Past subsidiaries included Wolf Team, Laser Soft, Riot, Renovation Products and Reno, all of which disappeared when the company was restructured in 1993. Later subsidiaries included Commseed, Telenet Jr., and Namco Tales Studio (34% owned by Telenet, 60% by Namco).
The company was best known for their Valis, Cosmic Fantasy, and Tales series of games, as well as their Wolf Team subsidiary, later called Namco Tales Studio, and its games.
Telenet closed its doors on October 25, 2007. SunSoft bought the company's entire game library on December 10, 2009, intending to remake and re-release some of their games.
