Harald Breitmaier and Heinz Munter started releasing freeware and shareware games as Motelsoft in 1986. In 1990 it became a label of Breitmaier & Munter GbR for commercial software development.
While commercial activities ceased in 2007 with the closure of Breitmaier & Munter GbR, Motelsoft still released freeware games and comics by Breitmaier until 2017.
