Founded in 1995 by Jean-Marc de Fety and Jean-Christophe Marquis, Monte Cristo Multimedia was an independent executive producer of entertainment software located in Paris, France. The company's strategy was to design, finance, develop, own and market original intellectual properties as well as license-based products.

Monte Cristo was composed of 70 staff members (designers, producers, programmers and artists) and was under the management of Jean Christophe Marquis and Jerome Gastaldi since 2002.

The company announced it would close "sometime during the week" on May 25, 2010.
