Overview

Since launching their first title in 1996, DreamCatcher Interactive quietly became one of the most successful small-sized publishers in the entertainment software industry. Located in Ontario, Canada, the company began as a publisher exclusively for PC adventure games.

Over the next 10 years, DreamCatcher experienced rapid growth and impressively became a major publisher as well as distributor.

The company diversified into new platforms and genres and, in 2002, formed the publishing label The Adventure Company to handle their adventure titles.

Their European office in Paris, France, was opened in early 2003 after acquiring French game developer and publisher Cryo Interactive.

On some of their action titles, the label DCi Games was used.

In March 2007, both DreamCatcher and The Adventure Company became part of the JoWooD Group as publishing labels.

On Oct. 1, 2003, DreamCatcher Interactive Inc. was ranked as the 17th fastest growing company on the Deloitte & Touche Canadian Technology Fast 50 list.

The Fast 50 is a prestigious annual award honoring the 50 fastest growing Canadian technology companies, based on percentage revenue growth over a five-year period.

To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $75K CDN in 1998 and $1MM in 2002, be controlled and headquartered in Canada and, be a "technology company". Rankings are based on the percentage of growth in fiscal year revenues from 1998-2002. Entering its sixth year, the program continues to gain recognition and it is now regarded as the leading award for the technology industry in Canada. DreamCatcher had experienced revenue growth of 2294.74% over that period.

DreamCatcher Interactive had a highly successful 5 years, publishing console and PC games in a variety of different genres. The company has also become North America's biggest publisher of adventure games for the PC, through its highly respected 'The Adventure Company' brand.
